The Chapel Hill Police Department issued the following news release earlier today:
The Chapel Hill Police Department is currently seeking information following a shooting incident which occurred on East Rosemary Street, near Municipal Parking Lot #2, at approximately 2:35 a.m. this morning. Police responded to reports that two groups of black males exchanged gunfire and then fled the area in directions unknown. There were no reported injuries. The Chapel Hill Police Department is seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have information about those involved in the shooting.
