UPDATE – Chapel Hill Police Investigate Homicide on Christopher Road
At 11:54 AM yesterday, Chapel Hill Police Officers responded to a report that someone had been shot at 102 S. Christopher Road in Chapel Hill. When officers arrived, they found a male that had been shot multiple times. The subject was identified as Lew Hahn Hood (DOB: 05/14/1981) of Elizabeth St, Chapel Hill. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bartholomew Romidas Scott (DOB 01/14/1979), of Spring Creed Dr., Durham, has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. Scott was transported to the Orange County Jail and is being held without bond. (Arrest sheet attached)
Both St. Thomas More School and Glenwood Elementary School were put into lockdown as a precaution during the initial phase of the investigation. There was no direct threat to either school.
The investigation is ongoing and further information may be released when it becomes available.
