Informational: The University continues to monitor Hurricane Dorian, wind and rain expected Thursday

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:

The University continues to monitor the path of Hurricane Dorian, and its effects on the Eastern coastal region. We are expecting wind gusts and moderate rain in the Chapel Hill area beginning 8 a.m. Thursday morning through Friday morning.

The University will be operating under normal conditions and class schedules. We encourage you to use caution and be aware of local conditions if traveling. Chapel Hill Transit and Point-to-Point are available for travel to and around campus. Visit move.unc.edu for transit schedules and any changes to regular services.

In the meantime, updates can be found at alertcarolina.unc.edu. We will provide you with an update no later than 11 a.m. Thursday. For the most updated forecast and conditions, visit the National Weather Service Raleigh webpage. If the forecast for our area changes or weather conditions worsen, we will communicate with campus sooner.

If you or your family are impacted by the storm, we have resources available to you.
